The scene in the movie Spy where Melissa McCarthy starts eating a PureNapkin® hand towel is actually based in reality. Spy's director, Paul Feig explained that he had actually made this mistake in a London restaurant;
"...I was in a really, really nice fancy Indian restaurant in London, and I kept seeing at different tables they were bringing out these two white things and they would pour something on top and they would rise up, then my view would be blocked but I thought 'nice marshmallow palate cleanser kind of thing'. So they brought them to my table, the guy does it and I say "Oh thank you", then I pick it up, and he's looking at me, and I put it in my mouth and I'm chewing down on it and like all this hot water shoots down the back of my throat and I'm like, "wait a minute, this is really chewy", and I look at the guy and he's just staring at me. "Oh, I think I'm eating a hand towel", and I pull it out, and it's a hand towel!
And the big question was "why didn't you stop me?"
It's a great story - and that's how PureNapkin® ended up in the Spy movie. You can watch it again in the official trailer clip on our home page.
